Morning Views Asia: Country Garden Holdings Co, Guangzhou R&F Properties, Tata Steel Ltd

Guangzhou R&F's (GRF) FY 2020 results were slightly better than expected, thanks to the reduced debt and leverage improvement. That said, the debt reduction came at the expense of lower margins, as the company carried out aggressive price promotions to boost its cash flow. GRF remains in breach of all three of the regulator’s Red Lines. However, management is confident of meeting one or two of the Red Lines by FYE 2021. This will be achieved through further asset sales and inventory de-stocking, as well as the increased usage of JVs and potential stake sales in GRF's hotels and selected urban renewal projects. While the company has significantly reduced its land acquisition spending, we believe that the land bank remains adequate and should suffice for 5-6 years of development.
