<li>European oil majors beat Q2 profit estimates. BP’s Q2 underlying net profit beat estimates by 7.7%. Shell’s Q2 EPS beat estimates by 5.1%. </li>

As of the week ending 26/Jul, US natural gas inventories were up 8.4% YoY and 15.7% above the 5-year seasonal average.
European oil majors beat Q2 profit estimates. BP’s Q2 underlying net profit beat estimates by 7.7%. Shell’s Q2 EPS beat estimates by 5.1%.

iShares Russell 2000 ETF / Technical Analysis

<li>Breadth has expanded significantly in recent weeks with the Russell 2000 (IWM) breaking above major 2.5-year resistance at $210; $210 is now critical support moving forward.</li>
<li>Technology/Large-Cap growth/Nasdaq 100 (QQQ) has consolidated after getting extended, and with June 12 gap support on QQQ getting filled/breaking today, it appears this pullback is likely to continue.</li>
<li>The SPX is breaking its 20-day MA. June 12th gap at 5375-5409 is potential support, but it appears a pullback in the SPX and QQQ may be headed to 5191/$449.</li>

Monitoring Small- Vs. Large-Caps and Growth Vs. Value; $SPX, $QQQ in Pullback Mode

The primary trend in U.S. equity markets remains bullish, and the usual suspects continue to lead: growth (Tech and FANG), homebuilders, industrials, etc.  Yet unusually bullish price patterns continue to develop in long-term laggards like energy (esp. E&amp;Ps), retail (XRT), and engineering &amp; construction (JEC).  We view this stabilization, or participation, in weak segments as a boost to the market’s breadth, a point of contention in recent months for some, who have pointed out that fewer stocks are trading above their 200-day moving averages.  Attractive entry points are also visible in many cyclical Groups, especially Casinos and Investment Banks.  In today’s report we highlight actionable charts in both Groups... see pages 8-24]
