Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

Over the past 20 years, Thailand faced two financial crisis, namely Tom Yum Goong in 1997 and Lehman in 2008. Discounting the political nonsense that is just part of life down here, we think there are five important lessons to take away, regarding: 1) the importance of investors; 2) liabilities-cash flow matching; 3) sticking to core competencies as well as avoiding : 4) currency pegs to dollars (or any currency); and 5) capital controls. No event in Thai business history has transformed the landscape more than the 1997 crisis. In this review, we highlight a few anecdotes of those who survived and those who didn't (at least not in their original forms).

In this review, we highlight five possible trends and two Thai stocks each that would benefit (or be adversely affected) by them, namely: 1) an ageing society; 2) higher concentration of wealth; 3) driverless cars for ride hailing; 4) increasing fintech adoption by incumbents; and 5) a decline in both labor cost and commodity prices.We may have discussed most of these themes before, though we've never put them in one place. As they say in investing, gotta watch where the puck is going, not where it is.
