CM Research is an independent research house based in London, England. We provide global thematic research in the Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) sectors. 

Our focus is on disruptive technologies: how will they unfold; which industries will be impacted; and who will be the ultimate winners and losers. 

Our aim is to help investors predict share prices and corporate executives stay one step ahead of the technology trends that are shaping their industry. 

We research technology investment themes in detail and then feed the results into a scorecard system to quantify the impact of several conflicting themes on individual stocks.

We cover the top 500 global TMT stocks by market capitalisation and several technology start-ups and pre-IPO companies too. 

In 2015, CM Research analysts outperformed the Bloomberg Benchmark Analyst Index - which measures how good analysts are at predicting stock prices - by 7.1%.

The rebound in crude oil and gas prices brought some solace to shareholders of gas shipping companies as stocks of LNG and LPG operators started trending up. Nonetheless, investors have been discreet while backing a company. Since the start of the year, Gaslog in the LNG shipping and StealthGas among the LPG ship operators have yielded handsome returns. <ul><li class="p1">We make no change to our A$4.80 per share Oil Search fair value estimate.</li><li class="p1">In a deal with a number of moving parts, Oil Search in essence has agreed to buy another 6.2% equity stake in Elk/Antelope resources in PNG, taking its interest to 29% after government back-in.</li><li class="p1">The price in equity percentage terms is effectively double the price paid for its original 22.84% stake in February 2014.</li><li class="p1">Despite this, and the fact we elect to value the Elk/Antelope stake at half the latest purchase price, a stealth equity raising, using overvalued scrip, offsets the impact.</li></ul>Analyst: Mark Taylor &amp; Mathew Hodge

Almost exactly as I wrote, the dollar (DXY) has weakened 7.9% since the high of 99.83 at the start of the year to 91.92 in early May, commodities (SPGSCI Index) has rallied 35.7% during the same period.
