Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

<p>We’ve been bullish on Disney since early last year when its stock fell below $100 on pandemic concerns, as the market was underestimating the power of the DTC business. That underestimation no longer exists and Disney’s upside to its current valuation is becoming harder to justify as we near $200/share. Disney’s quarter was good enough to keep the bull case intact: booming DTC business and soon to fully re-open Parks business driving a rebound in earnings growth. When we invest on the long side, we want to be able to generate a &gt;30% one year return, so what do we have to believe on Disney from here for 2021?</p><div class="content-highlight"><p>Obex’s fundamental research process is focused on secular change in the TMT and Consumer sectors. <p>Last week, we wrote about how Third Point's Dan Loeb wrote a letter to Disney urging it to spend more on content. Within days, the company announced a major reorganization of its content creation and distribution strategy, with an emphasis on focusing on DTC (streaming). We applaud the move...and think Disney becomes an even more compelling long as it plays catchup to the rest of the "COVID winners" from its position in the COVID loser camp. We have a catalyst path to follow now...earnings in November, Analyst Day on December 10th.
