Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone / Credit

Adani Ports (APSEZ) reported Q2/20-21 results that were better than expected. Earnings rebounded q-o-q and even grew slightly y-o-y. This was thanks to the re-opening of the Indian economy, with the government progressively easing the lockdown measures in place since June. The company also gained market share, supported by its enlarged capacity. Although the H1 earnings were slightly lower y-o-y, we expect mild growth for the full year. Leverage weakened temporarily on account of the Krishnapatnam acquisition, but should improve over the next 12 months. We revise our fundamental Credit Bias on APSEZ to “Stable” from "Negative".
