<div class="content-highlight"><a href="https://www.news1.kr/articles/?4201835" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Korea Financial Services Commission (FSC)</a> announced after the market close today that there will be a PARTIAL end of the ban on short selling of stocks starting on May 3rd. This will not be applied on the entire market. Rather, this partial end of the ban on short selling of stocks will only apply for KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150 included stocks (350 stocks in total) and will not apply for the remaining 2,037 stocks in the Korean stock market.</div>

The short sell ban in Korea that was instated on 16 March 2020 is set to expire on 15 March.However, with mayoral elections in Seoul and Busan around the corner, politicians are said to be leaning on the FSC to extend the short sell ban. Add to that the retail outrage - from petitions to the Blue House, bus tours, and posts on K-Streetbets of targeting stocks with high short interest.There is a high likelihood that the short sell ban gets extended by three more months to tide the politicians over the mayoral elections.In the event that the short sell ban expires, we highlight stocks that have seen the most short covering since the start of the short sell ban, stocks with high short interest as a percentage of market cap and free float, and high days of ADV to cover.This will have implications for many strategies and will open the door to trade the ordinaries vs preferred shares, long/short and other related strategies.

This would represent 58.2% in the inheritance tax rate. Samsung C&amp;T had a really good day today (up 13.5%). Our SoTP analysis of Samsung C&amp;T suggests that it remains highly undervalued right now. Our SoTP analysis suggests an implied price per share of 186,00 won, which is 57% higher than the current price of 118,000 won. Samsung C&amp;T's investment stakes in affiliates are worth 43 trillion won.
