<p>On 6 November after the market close, POSCO Chemical (003670 KS) announced a major rights offering worth 1 trillion won, representing nearly 20% of its market cap (5 trillion won). POSCO Chemical's share price is down nearly 2.5% today. With the additional 1 trillion won from the proceeds of the rights offering, POSCO Chemical will use it to aggressively invest in the rechargeable battery materials for electric vehicles.</p><p>There is likely to be a healthy demand for the rights offering issue among the general investors, given that this is a relatively sizeable deal with enough upside potential, given POSCO Chemical's increasing competitiveness in the rechargeable battery materials sector globally. </p>

Technical Analysis

Out of Korea's eight ADRs, POSCO ADR is currently at a 6.5% discount to the underlying share, whose price is up 3.14% today.The discount began to widen since yesterday to 3.2%, and now further gone down to 6.5%.POSCO ADRs account for 9.1% of the SO, making the DR market cap ₩1.47T. The ADR 30D DTV is ₩7.4B (US$6.3M), the second-highest behind SK Telecom.
