<ul><li>(21 Oct) Spot rubber broke the support level of 1,300 USD/MT whilst futures markets also creeped under 1,250 USD/MT with backwardation observed for December, January and February contracts.Raw material tightness no match for oversupplyHeavy rain and flooding has resulted in a lack of raw materials in Thailand.</li><li>Some producers Helixtap spoke to said, “It’s been raining everyday and I won’t be surprised if the floods will hit the south (of Thailand) soon.”  In Indonesia, raw material was also tight with low prices accelerating the rubber smallholder workers move to more lucrative construction jobs.  In what seems like a sign of some support, African exporters of cup lump were reluctant to sell to Indonesian importers at these levels.</li><li>Indonesian producers also heaved a sigh of relief as the Indonesian Rupiah touched a new low against the dollar - crossing 15,600 IDR/USD - a level not seen since 1998.</li></ul>
