Quantitative Analysis

<li>We analyze the weekly Shanghai/Shenzhen northbound Connect flows with our data engine for holding position as of April 3rd.</li>
<li>We estimate the weekly outflows to be US$448.8 million, led by consumer discretionary, information technology, consumer staples, and offset by industrials, utilities, communication services.</li>
<li>We highlight flows for CATL, Moutai. Note that the connect was closed for three days last week due to exchange holidays.</li>
</ul>


We analyze the weekly Shanghai/Shenzhen northbound Connect flows with our data engine for holding position as of April 3rd.

<li>WuXi AppTec’s 2023 results were disappointing. The decline in performance in 23H2 was quite severe. 2024 performance guidance could be meaningless because the biggest concern now is the geopolitical conflicts.</li>
<li>If the bill is passed, valuation logic would completely change - not based on DCF/PE, but on PB, market value falling below RMB100 billion. We cannot rule out another privatisation.</li>
<li>We hope that WuXi AppTec can prepare contingency plans for the worst-case scenario that may occur, rather than simply denying or mitigating the impact of BIOSECURE Act on the Company</li>

<li>However, the biggest problem currently is geopolitical risks, which make performance forecasts groundless. In the context of Sino-US confrontation, there is “a hesitation” towards sustained high growth of WuXi XDC.</li>
<li>If several pieces of news are put together, this is not just about China CXO/TikTok being sanctioned by US. New balance point in the game between great powers will emerge.</li>
</ul>
