In this insight, we provide an IPO trading update on <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/bigcommerce-holdings-inc" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:29196:1" rel="noopener">BigCommerce Holdings Inc (BIGC US), </a>which started to trade on August 5th with an IPO price of $24 per share. BigCommerce's share price surged as high as $93.99 per share on August 5th and closed at $72.27 on that date. Since then, BigCommerce's share price rose further to $79 per share. The SaaS and e-commerce related IPOs in the U.S. including BigCommerce has had a fantastic year so far. We covered seven SaaS and e-commerce related IPOs in the U.S. this year (including valuation analysis). These seven stocks are up a whopping 112% (from their IPO price to the current price). This group of U.S. SaaS and e-commerce related IPOs has been one of the best performing asset class in the global equity markets. Among these seven IPOs, we were positive in six of them (including BigCommerce, Vroom, and Ncino). However, we were negative on the Rackspace Technology and this latter stock has not fared well after the IPO. In addition, although we were bullish on most of these SaaS and e-commerce related IPOs, where we have been wrong is not being BULLISH ENOUGH as stocks such as BigCommerce and Vroom have returned nearly 200% from their IPO prices.  Investors are really pushing up IPO shares of U.S. SaaS and e-commerce companies with improving operating losses and excellent sales growth.
