Prior to Aequitas. I was heading Content Strategy for Smartkarma, along with covering IPOs & Placement. In an earlier life I have covered ASEAN property and the banking space in India.

We combine fundamental bottom-up views with our proprietary quantitative framework to provide a holistic coverage across new listings and placements. Our coverage includes pre-IPO notes before the deal is launched, follow-up analysis once the deal is live and post-listing trading analysis as well.

Nomura Holdings (8604 JP) and Jafco Co Ltd (8595 JP) are looking to raise around US$850m via selling 5.7% of Nomura Research Institute Ltd (4307 JP). 
This is not the first sale by Nomura and marks a clean up for Jafco. Hence it might not come as a complete surprise.
