<ul><li>Transition periods are usually tricky and that’s certainly the case in today’s macro investment  landscape.</li><li>The transition from a fixation on inflation and monetary policy to a focus on fiscal policy and a global manufacturing recovery is a sudden shift of gears that have left many scratching their heads.</li><li>Yet that’s where True North, the correct direction of travel, lies – at least from our armchair here at TPW Advisory.</li></ul>

Macroeconomics

<ul><li>We view AI’s emergence coupled with the acceleration of EV adoption as suggesting two firsts – the first competition of the Tri Polar World (TPW) and the first competition of the AI age.</li><li>Both suggest those regions able to integrate semi and EV supply chains at speed will be the winners.</li><li>All three TPW poles (Europe, Asia &amp; the Americas) are highly motivated to compete, arguably there is no future without success and so we foresee a public – private investment period akin to the post WW 2 rebuild of Europe &amp; Asia but focused on Climate &amp; AI – a perspective which underpins our positive LT global growth outlook. See Chart 20.</li></ul>

TPW Advisory August Monthly: An Ode To Competition

<ul><li>It’s been a white-knuckle ride for much of the past 6-9 months but what a ride it’s been!</li><li>I had a similar experience last weekend up in the country. Rain had fallen for much of the prior week and road washouts had occurred in multiple spots near our camping locale.</li><li>Nonetheless, when we hit the mighty Deerfield River last Sunday I was determined to do what we do every year which is to ride the rapids bareback – i.e. no tubes.</li></ul>

TPW Advisory Friday Musings: When Facts Rock Fiction

<ul><li>There have been big moves a plenty in the 1st H of the year with Nasdaq having one of its best 1st Half’s ever, Japan &amp; Brazil both gaining nearly 20% last Q while several of our favored Cyclical sectors enjoyed double digit gains last month.</li><li>Elsewhere, Global Sov bond yields have risen back to levels last seen in 2008 while record breaking Mexican Peso strength &amp; Yen weakness finally reversed a bit.</li><li>Here’s one for the books – Brent crude oil has now declined for four quarters in a row, the longest such stretch in 35 years! We like energy for the 2ndH.</li></ul>

Jay Pelosky is the Founder of TPW Advisory, a NYC based independent investment advisory boutique offering forward looking, actionable & thematic investment advice to institutions and individuals alike. Prior to co founding TPWIM, Jay was the Founder & Principal of Pelosky Global Strategies (PGS), an independent global investment advisory boutique founded in 2011. An ETF STAR, he has invested his own capital in an ETF based, global, multi asset portfolio since 2003. 

At Morgan Stanley he served as PM and Strategist, creating the Firm's global asset allocation and global equity strategy research products. He formed and co-chaired the research department’s global asset allocation committee and launched the Firm’s Global Emerging Markets Strategy (GEMS) and Latin American equity research products. He and his team were ranked #1 in multiple Institutional Investor polls including Global Asset Allocation. 

Jay is a sought after commentator on political economy and financial markets, speaking at conferences around the world, appearing regularly on TV and writing for such publications as the Financial Times. He did his undergraduate work at Duke University where he was a scholarship football player and received his M.A. in International Affairs from the Elliott School at The George Washington University.
