These 11 companies experienced a sharp underperformance (from one day prior to their corporate value up announcement to current) versus KOSPI in the past two months.

Korea Value Up Plans Announcements by Companies in KOSPI in June and July 2025

<li>In this insight, we highlight the recent pricing gap divergences of the major Korean holdcos and opcos which could provide trading opportunities in 3Q 2025.</li>
<li>A whopping 87% (33 out of 38) holdcos/quasi holdcos outperformed their opco counterparts in the past three months, which is one of the best ever in the past two decades.</li>
<li>This appears to be one of the classic "buy the rumor, sell the news" trading opportunities. </li>

In this insight, we highlight the recent pricing gap divergences of the major Korean holdcos and opcos which could provide trading opportunities in 3Q 2025.

<li>In this insight, we provide updated NAV valuations of Hanmi Science (008930 KS), Amorepacific Holdings (002790 KS), Youngone Holdings (009970 KS), OCI Holdings (010060 KS), and Orion Holdings (001800 KS).</li>
<li>These five smaller holding companies have also outperformed the market this year (up 43% on average versus KOSPI which is up 20% in the same period).</li>
<li>These holdcos' outperformance has been driven by investors' perception that the new Lee Jae-Myung administration will make real changes to improve corporate governance policies. </li>

<li>Of the 30 Korean F&amp;B companies mentioned in this insight, only six companies meet these criteria including Samyang Foods, Orion Corp, Hitejinro, Lotte Wellfood, Daesang Corporation, and Pulmuone.</li>

<li>However, after getting the 10%+ pullback, we discussed in 4/1/25 and 4/3/25 reports how we no longer saw it as a buying opportunity, and we downgraded our outlook to bearish/cautious</li>
<li>While it is possible that the lows are in, we now are looking for the ACWI-US rally to fizzle, either here at $113.50-$115 or the 200-day MA (~$118).</li>
