Periscope Analytics

Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

CSI announced the changes for the June rebalance after market close on 30 May and the changes will be effective after the close of trading on 13 June.
There are 6 changes for the index and we estimate passive buying of 0.7-2.4x ADV in the adds and passive selling of between 1-4.7x ADV in the deletes.
There will be capping inflows for Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics (300760 CH) and capping outflows for WuXi AppTec (603259 CH).

Anker Innovations Technology could replace Suzhou Maxwell Technologies in the index. If AVIC Chengdu Aircraft is added to the index, Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment could be deleted.

Anker Innovations Technology could have opposite flow and Suzhou Maxwell Technologies could have same way flow from passive trackers of other indices on the same day.

<li>A long adds/ short deletes trade has gone nowhere in the last 6-7 months, and the volatility of the trade has reduced even further in the last couple of months.</li>
