Vinay was recently joined by Swapnil Manish, an investment banker and ex-ecommerce entrepreneur with more than 12 years of experience. Swapnil was the TMT banker at BNP Paribas and was part of several large M&A and ECM transactions (Bharti-Zain, Bharti Infratel IPO, Schneider-Zicom among several others). He's also had a stint as an ecommerce entrepreneur having launched & led Mumbai's first online grocery player.

The total number of telecom towers in India stood at about 420,000 at the end of FY 2016 and the industry was estimated to rake in INR 1.36 trillion in annual revenue, with Bharti Infratel and Indus Towers accounting for 40.8% of the total market share. As the need to manage data traffic rises, tenancy ratio of towers is expected to increase from 1.7-1.9 to 2.9 by March 2020. We believe that this form of leasing will contribute significantly to the top line of telecom tower companies in India.

Conversely, we believe that the worst is over for the container shipping and we see higher returns for the sector in 2017-18. We have increased the allocation to the sector from 8% to 27%. The port sector is another major constituent of our model portfolio for 2017 as world trade recovery gathers steam and earnings remain resilient for our portfolio constituents. </li><li>We are Neutral on gas shipping as we believe the stocks are trading in a fair territory, while we maintain our Unattractive stance on tankers. </li></ul>
