The current situation was precipitated by a series of events, beginning with the introduction of the Three Red Lines policy in 2020. We also provide an overview of recent bond defaults. The Asia Monthly is intended to broaden investors' understanding of the Asian USD high-yield market.

Asia HY Monthly - Chinese Property - Crisis Of Confidence - Lucror Analytics

We believe Agile has sufficient liquidity to redeem the maturing AGILE 3.85 21, based on its reported cash balance. The company has USD 500 mn of Notes due in H1/22 and USD 600 mn in H2. The company may face difficulties issuing new Notes going forward, given the poor financing environment. Even so, Agile should have sufficient internal cash to repay the maturing USD bonds, as well as CNY 4.5 bn of corporate bonds and CNY 1.8 bn of other borrowings due in FY 2022. The remainder of the company’s debt maturing in FY 2022 (CNY 14 bn, accounting for 57% of maturing debt) are in the form of bank loans, which Agile should be able to refinance. As of end-June, Agile had undrawn credit facilities of CNY 6.0 bn (although the company did not disclose if the facilities were committed).
