The ban on dining-in as part of the stricter measures by the Singapore government starting today until next month has caused some fears in the market and ComfortDelgro is not spared. Singapore is on target to reach 2/3 of the country fully vaccinated by the 9th of Aug 2021 during the National Day hence there should be some restrictions easing as the Singapore government has to open the economy at some stage which means more mobility and reinstatement of dining-in among others. The government has mentioned that Singapore will live alongside COVID-19 as it expects to shift from pandemic to endemic. 
While mall operators such as <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/capitaland-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:55:1" rel="noopener">Capitaland (CAPL SP)</a> and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/city-developments-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:57:1" rel="noopener">City Developments (CIT SP)</a> have to give some form of rent relief to their tenants, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/comfortdelgro-corp-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:497:1" rel="noopener">Comfortdelgro Corp (CD SP)</a>does not need to give relief to its drivers and mobility does not seem to drastically decrease. Investors should expect some restrictions on easing measures during the National Day period that will lift <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/comfortdelgro-corp-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:497:1" rel="noopener">Comfortdelgro Corp (CD SP)</a> share price.

US Markets continued to hover around the record highs. S&amp;P was up 0.3% and set another record while Nasdaq was broadly flat. Materials and Industrials up 1% led the gains, while Energy was down 1.7%. FOMC minutes did not give much clues on tapering of asset purchases. US 10Y Treasury yields dipped another 4bp to 1.31% – the lowest since February. European indices advanced with The European Commission upping GDP growth forecasts to 4.8% from 4.3% for 2021 and 4.5% from 4.4% for 2022. The DAX, FTSE and CAC were up 1.2%, 0.8% and 0.3% respectively. US IG and HY CDS spreads widened 0.4bp and 1.7bp respectively.  EU main and crossover CDS tightened 0.2bp and 2bp respectively. Saudi TASI and Abu Dhabi’s ADX were down 0.1% and 0.2% respectively. Brazil’s Bovespa was up 1.5%. China continues to increase its regulatory oversight over the companies listing in the US as Chinese companies’ shares and ADRs are under pressure. Ride-hailing app Didi’s shares have fallen over ~20% in the few days.  Asian markets opened in the red – Nikkei and Shanghai down 0.6% HSI down ~2% and Singapore’s STI down 0.5%. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads were 1.9bp wider.

Sydney Airport revealed a conditional, non-binding indicative offer from a consortium (Sydney Aviation Alliance) comprising of IFM, QSuper and Global Infrastructure Partners. The indicative offer of A$8.25 per share is a 42% premium to the unaffected price of A$5.81 (2 July). The offer price will be reduced by any dividends declared or paid prior to the scheme taking effect. The proposed transaction would be implemented via a scheme of arrangement.The Board noted the offer was below its pre-pandemic share price and said it would review the proposal, which is contingent on granting due diligence and unanimous recommendation by the Board in the absence of a superior offer. Crucially, the offer is conditional on UniSuper agreeing to reinvest its equity interest for an equivalent equity interest in the consortium’s holding vehicle. UniSuper is the largest shareholder who represents 15.28% of the outstanding shares. In response to the indicative offer, UniSuper said that it saw “merit in Sydney Airport being converted from a publicly listed company to an unlisted company. UniSuper also has a favourable view of the consortium partners." UniSuper will make a final decision after all details have been considered.We think that the indicative offer is opportunistic as it offers a modest premium to pre-COVID-19 share prices. However, airports in Australia have been hard hit by tough international travel restrictions, sporadic lockdowns and slow vaccination roll-out. The timing and the shape of a recovery (particularly the crucial international travel) remains highly uncertain suggesting the shares are more suited to the patient long-term investor.<div class="content-highlight">Nevertheless, this non-binding indicative offer lays a marker for the intrinsic value of the shares, gives the Board an opportunity to negotiate a bump or entice other infrastructure bidders to start a bidding war. At the last close price of A$7.78, the shares are trading at a 6% gross spread to the indicative offer.</div>
