This is an update of the previous note as there have been developments in releasing value in <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/141" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:141:1">Hutchison Telecommunications HK (215 HK)</a> (HTHK). Recent press reports suggest that HTHK management is looking at strategic options around the fixed-line business (i.e. a sale). This would presumably leave the mobile business as the rump (or perhaps it could also be sold?). This may well be a case where breaking up the two businesses delivers value. All three Chinese telcos have now reported their 1Q17 results. We will have more detail on this later but, in general terms, we continue to see decent revenue and Ebitda growth for the industry.
