<p>Post market close on 23 August, the Index Maintenance Sub-Committee (IMSC) of NSE Indices announced the results of the September index review for the NIFTY family of indices. The rebalance will be effective after the close of trading on 29 September and passive funds will need to trade at the close (VWAP over the last 30 minutes of trading) on the day.</p><p>There are no changes to the <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/nifty-index" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:23617:1" rel="noopener">NIFTY Index (NIFTY INDEX)</a>, in line with what we expected.</p><p>There are 5 changes to the NIFTY Next 50 Index. <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/bank-of-baroda" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:545:1" rel="noopener">Bank Of Baroda (BOB IN)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/cholamandalam-investment-and-finance" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:17583:1" rel="noopener">Cholamandalam Investment and Finance (CIFC IN)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/jindal-steel-power-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:6614:1" rel="noopener">Jindal Steel &amp; Power (JSP IN)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/pi-industries-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:6040:1" rel="noopener">Pi Industries (PI IN)</a> and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/steel-authority-of-india" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:14323:1" rel="noopener">Steel Authority of India (SAIL IN)</a> will be included in the index, while <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/abbott-india-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:9687:1" rel="noopener">Abbott India (BOOT IN)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/alkem-laboratories-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:26928:1" rel="noopener">Alkem Laboratories Ltd (ALKEM IN)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/mrf-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:2930:1" rel="noopener">Mrf Ltd (MRF IN)</a>, <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/petronet-lng-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:15235:1" rel="noopener">Petronet LNG (PLNG IN)</a> and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/united-breweries-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:18080:1" rel="noopener">United Breweries (UBBL IN)</a> will be deleted from the index.</p><p>While the headline impact in terms of ADV looks low, a look at the impact compared to the delivery volumes paints a different picture.</p><p>There are a whole bunch of changes to constituents of other indices too. However, the assets tracking these indices are small and there will be negligible impact on the stocks.</p><p>There is an expansion of the index universe for the NIFTY indices with REITs and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) becoming eligible for inclusion in the indices.</p>

Gland Pharma (7172753Z IN) raised around US$900m in one of India’s largest IPOs in 2020. The company was established in 1978 by P.V.N. Raju. KKR invested in the company in 2014 and Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) (2196 HK) bought a 74% stake in the company in 2017.

Gland Pharma IPO Trading - Squeezed Through, Now for the Real Test

The company was established in 1978 by P.V.N. Raju. KKR invested in the company in 2014 and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/shanghai-fosun-pharmaceutical-group" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:8045:1" rel="noopener">Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) (2196 HK)</a> bought a 74% stake in the company in 2017. </p><p>Gland Pharma was one of the fastest growing generic injectables-focused companies by revenue in the United States from 2014 to 2019. GP sells its products primarily via a B2B model in over 60 countries, including US, Europe, Canada, Australia, and India. It also operates a B2C model in India.</p><p>GP’s revenue has grown at 28.78% CAGR over FY18-20 and was up another 29.4% in 1Q21. At the same time, PAT margins have increased from 19.2% in FY18 to 34.2% in 1Q21. Thus, PAT has grown at 55.15% CAGR and was up another 70.6% in 1Q21. </p><p>However, the company hasn’t provided a whole lot of details about the revenue breakdown for its products. In addition, not all the pre-IPO shareholders will be locked-up post listing.</p>
