We combine fundamental bottom-up views with our proprietary quantitative framework to provide a holistic coverage across new listings and placements. Our coverage includes pre-IPO notes before the deal is launched, follow-up analysis once the deal is live and post-listing trading analysis as well.

<li>We tabulate league table for top short by value and short as multiple of ADT, as well as weekly increases &amp; decreases in short value, short as multiple of ADT.</li>
<li>We highlight short interest changes in Macquarie, Fortescue, Mirvac, Insurance Australia, BHP, Wesfarmers, CSL.</li>

We analyzed the changes in short interest of ASX Stocks as of Sep 6th (reported today) which has an aggregated short interest worth USD24.3bn.

<li>Privately-Held Chemist Warehouse’s (CWG) “transformational merger” with pharmaceutical wholesaler and franchisor <strong><a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/sigma-healthcare-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:15966:1" rel="noopener">Sigma Healthcare (SIG AU)</a></strong> will result in CWG's shareholders holding 85.75% of the merged company. </li>
<li>CWG shareholders will receive A$700mn in cash plus new Sigma shares. Sigma will also undertake a $400mn equity raising to fund working capital needs.</li>
<li>Sigma has the backing of its largest shareholder HMC. The risk to completion pivots off ACCC approval. </li>

Gentrack (GTK NZ) and Turners Automotive (TRA NZ) will be added to the S&amp;P/NZX 50 Index while Synlait Milk (SML NZ) and Pacific Edge (PEB NZ) will be deleted.

S&P/NZX 50 Index Rebalance: Two High Impact Changes Coming Up

<li>There is one change for the ASX20, two for the ASX100, four for the <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/s-p-asx-200" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:22901:1" rel="noopener">S&amp;P/ASX 200 INDEX</a> and 12 adds/ 9 deletes for the ASX300 Index at the March rebalance.</li>
<li>There will be between 7-20 days of ADV to trade on the ASX100 and ASX200 adds while the impact on the deletions is between 1-11 days of ADV.</li>
<li>The adds have outperformed the deletes on all indices over the last few months. Short interest has jumped on a lot of the large deletes.</li>
</ul>
