We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

The former forecasts are often prepared and reviewed at a lower 'level' in the company than the latter, which are seen as 'targets' set by the CEO. As a result and as seen last year, the interim forecasts provide better forward guidance, a pattern that is beginning to repeat this year as seen in our scoring above. </p><p>In the <strong>DETAIL</strong> below, we shall review the results, revisions and initial forecast announcements made yesterday.  The positive/neutral/negative balance for the 16 results was 9:0:7; and for the 17 revisions/forecasts, the split was 12:0:5, with three of the twelve 'positives' being in the Information Technology Sector. <p>This week's two-part Holdco overview is chock-full of charts, covering the performance of all 566 stubs in my stub monitor, across all countries, and liquidity baskets, in the midst of the recent correction in markets.</p>

<p>The results, as always, are interesting, with some baskets clearly outperforming others. If you take the view that more liquid parents vis-à-vis less liquid subs will either underperform or outperform during these unprecedented times, the answer is not always clear cut, from one country to the next. </p>
