Asia HY Monthly - Chinese Property Update (2021) - Lucror Analytics

Shui On’s FY 2020 results were mixed, but within expectations. Negatively, revenue recognition remained very weak, though there was slight improvement from H1. Management expects earnings to improve in FY 2021, in line with the company’s property delivery schedule. Positively, net debt was reduced, as the company channelled its operating cash flows toward debt repayment. In addition, no dividend was declared for the year in a bid to conserve cash. Separately, Shui On has launched a 10-year sustainable development strategy to be rolled out in 2021. Its core vision is to be a pioneer developer of sustainable urban communities. This could have positive implications for the company’s ESG credentials, and could further improve its access to green financing.
