<li>For the month of November 2024, 14 new transactions (firm and non-binding) were discussed on Smartkarma with an overall announced deal size of ~US$15bn.</li>
<li>The average premium for the new transactions announced (or first discussed) in November was ~44%. The average premium YTD is ~43%.</li>
<li>This compares to the average premium for transactions in 2023 (117 transactions), 2022 (106), 2021 (165), 2020 (158), and 2019 (145 ) of 39%, 41%, 33%, 31%, and 31% respectively.</li>

Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

There are still other regulatory approvals pending.</li>
<li>The surge in the stock price could lead to the inclusion of MergeCo in one more index, further increasing the flow in the stock and the impact of passive buying.</li>
<li>Passive trackers are now estimated to buy a total of 938m shares (A$2.25bn; 103x ADV) in MergeCo. The buy flow could take place between January and March.</li>
