<p>In this insight, we discuss noticeable signs of fatigue in the Korean stock market. KOSPI is up a modest 12.2% YTD in 2021. However, there are some significant signs of fatigue that could negatively impact the stock market in the rest of 2021.</p>
<p><strong>The daily trading value on a monthly basis has declined significantly in 2021.</strong> The daily trading value of KOSPI was 26.5 trillion won in January, which declined to 13.8 trillion won in July. Typically (but not always), a rising stock market in the midst of a big decline in trading value is not a good sign and suggest major market fatigue. </p>
