Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

With major indexes testing support last week, we highlighted that while we expect to see indexes firm up based on YTD trends, the potential for breakdowns was not far off. Key Support Levels Being Tested for U.S. Indexes

Investors continue to prefer the stability of the U.S. relative to emerging markets. The recent declines recorded in emerging markets and their currencies suggest global risk aversion. U.S. equity markets are, by contrast, not showing any significant signs of coming unhinged as a result of this rout in emerging markets.  In this report we examine the factors likely to impact the U.S. equity markets, and explore actionable opportunities within the Technology, Consumer Discretionary, and Health Care Sectors.

The tragic events in Orlando have many people in the USA and around the world asking a lot of questions. These are exactly the same questions asked every couple of months and it’s honestly tiring. How many of these incidents does it take for both sides of government to unite – independent of the NRA – and make a meaningful impact? The sad fact is, meaningful, impactful change is likely to never happen in the short term, medium term or long term (or I've concluded during my lifetime).  As hard as it is to say, these events create the ideal environment for gun demand, which is great for the likes of Sturm Ruger (RGR US) and Smith &amp; Wesson (SWHC US).
