Wynn Macau’s poor H1/20 results were unsurprising and in line with industry trends as well as peers. Positively, tourism between China and Macau is set to fully normalise before end-September, before the Mainland’s golden week holidays in early October. We now expect EBITDA to recover to c. 60% of pre-pandemic levels in Q4/20, resulting in a small amount of positive FCF. That said, it is unclear if Macau’s tourist numbers will recover to pre-pandemic levels over the medium term, if COVID-19 persists. Meanwhile, the company has ample liquidity following its Notes issuance in June.
