Our research strategists seek to highlight securities which we believe are at major inflection points, based on our various technical and quantitative indicators, and offer asymmetric risk/return profiles. Our unique research methodology, centered on relative strength, enables our strategists to deliver superior investment recommendations.

Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

Technical Analysis

<li>Global equities (MSCI ACWI) have marginally broken above the top-end of our anticipated 2023 trading range of $93 on ACWI-US.</li>
<li>In our 4/18/23 Int’l MacroVision we acknowledged that a break above $93 and a reach to $96-$97 was also possible – and so far, this is what has played out.</li>
<li>We will continue to watch the $93 level for a potential false breakout, but as long as the ACWI-US is above $90.50, we cannot be bearish.</li>

<li>Previously, we criticized CJ Logistics as unfocused, pursuing deals in low-margin segments around the world as if to fill a logistics <em>'Bingo!'</em> card rather than in-line with a rational strategy</li>
<li>In recent years, investors have punished the company's shares, which have fallen by more than half since reaching a high of over 184,000 won per share in March 2021. </li>
<li>However, with management de-emphasizing its Global segment and focusing instead on the more promising Parcel / E-commerce line of business, there is cause for optimism, in our view</li>

Catching Up With CJ Logistics (000120 KS): With Shares Beaten Down, Management Forced to Refocus

<li>Secom's share price has surged by 8% following shareholder proposals submitted by Dalton Investments, raising expectations for potential approval of a 10% share buyback and its impact on stock price.</li>
<li>Secom, operating in a mature industry with limited growth prospects, faces challenges in deploying capital and maintaining consistent earnings growth, leading to an accumulation of capital on its balance sheet.</li>
<li>While Dalton's proposals may not gain sufficient support to pass at the upcoming AGM, the potential involvement of other activists warrant a bullish outlook.</li>

<li>The median on-market buyback was 2.40% of shares, the average 2.9% (both measured as practical maxima at announcement. Median/Average % of ADV was 7.6/9.2%. </li>
<li>My prediction that this will be a record year for stock buybacks still stands.</li>
