<p>In the current investor panic in the NBFC sector, we believe that treating all the NBFCs as a homogenous group is not advisable and the sector continues to offer select well-funded companies with good growth. Current liquidity freeze appears short-term in nature and will resolve once the IL&amp;FS matter is addressed. While the RBI is rightly worried about the exceptionally strong growth in bank lending to NBFCs and its spillover to consumer imports, there are pockets of opportunity in rural-focused NBFCs. Election year will see strong rural spend and companies in areas of tractor financing, truck financing etc will continue to record strong growth. Strong retail deposit funded NBFCs like HDFC should also continue to grow strongly as they have a strong funding base and are unlikely face any funds crunch.     </p>
