<p>Markets got spooked by an otherwise neutral MPC action of no hike when in any other time the equities would have rallied. The RBI action of no hike but accompanied by a change in stance and the statements in post-policy conference call did not go down well with the markets as investors only brace up for more hikes down the road. Forex markets took home a signal that RBI does not see depreciation as a threat to inflation and speculators added to bearish rupee bets. Markets are also nervous about the RBI clamping down heavily on NBFCs in revised norms that will be issued later in the month. A fund manager told me that markets today are missing Raghu Rajan today who would have provided precise signals and whose presence would have deterred speculators. We think that India level derating is going to continue for next week and we would wait for better entry levels. </p>
