The circus - with its acrobats, animals and Big Top - has always held a special magic for Cityneon Executive Director Ron Tan.
"The circus has always been a big thing for me, since I was a kid. I remember the huge tent, the clowns and jugglers, the smell of the animals," Tan recalled with a grin.
"Over the decades, the industry has evolved, and the animals have gone. Now, it's all about Cirque du Soleil."
Guy Laliberte, the co-founder of Montreal-headquartered Cirque du Soleil, or "Circus of the Sun", eventually became Tan's muse.
