Baptista Research is an independent financial research house focused on the U.S. markets. We provide equity research as well as credit research reports on the top-listed U.S. companies with most of our focus on technology, consumer goods and services, automobiles, industrials, oil and gas, pharma, and healthcare. Baptista Research is owned and managed by Ishan Majumdar, an ex-Venture Capitalist/ Investment Banker, a Chartered Accountant, and a Masters’ degree holder in Management from HEC Paris. Ishan has nearly a decade of experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs), Venture Capital Investing, Corporate Strategy, and Valuation in front-office roles at the likes of BNP Paribas CIB, Credit Agricole CIB, Groupe Danone, and TIW Private Equity. He has worked on and closed multiple acquisition deals, leveraged buyouts, and start-up investment transactions.

Equity Bottom-Up

<ul><li>Versant Media Group has reportedly agreed to sell SportsEngine, its youth-sports technology platform, to PlayMetrics, a rival backed by Genstar Capital, in a transaction that could be announced as early as May 1, 2026.</li><li>While deal terms were not immediately disclosed, earlier reporting had suggested SportsEngine could be valued at roughly $400 million to $500 million after Versant hired an adviser to review strategic options for the business.</li><li>The report comes shortly after Versant’s management acknowledged that it was evaluating value-maximizing alternatives for SportsEngine, citing consolidation across the youth-sports market, while also stressing that no decision had been made and that the company liked the asset.</li></ul>
