On 27 Jan, SGX FTSE China A50 Feb20 Futures price gapped-down by 3.7% at 9.00 am Singapore time open to 13,142, and subsequently hit a low of 12,700 at 6.50 pm during the overnight T+1 session. Prices recovered by 2% to around the 13,000 level by New York close.

 
A total of 269,557 lots were traded, of which about 60% of this volume was traded during the overnight T+1 session. Open interest of SGX FTSE China A50 Futures increased from 709k contracts to 719k contracts between 23rd and 27th Jan as international participants continued to manage their risk during the extended onshore trading break*.

 
SGX’s full suite of equity derivatives products are available for trading on all weekdays other than on New Year’s Day (1 Jan). SGX offers a round-the-clock venue for management of Asian risk events with its overnight T+1 session until 5.15 am Singapore time.

 
*The State Council of the People’s Republic of China has announced an extension of Chinese New Year Holidays. The Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges will reopen on 3 Feb, Monday.
