The founders of RDQ Economics—John Ryding and Conrad DeQuadros—worked together on Wall Street for a decade, in the independent research space for nine years, and have experience in central banking at the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England. <p>Nonfarm payrolls rose by 148,000 in December, a moderation from the average monthly gain of 173,000 in the first 11 months of 2017.  The unemployment rate held at 4.1% in December as the labor force participation rate was unchanged at 62.7% and household employment rose 104,000.</p><p>Average hourly earnings increased 0.3% in December, raising year-over-year wage growth to 2.5% from 2.4%.
