With regards to semiconductor chips (DRAM &amp; NAND Flash), Korea has been number one for such a long time. The media and people in Korea generally are sensitive when it comes to other countries or companies potentially taking away the market share in this crucial semiconductor chip sector. On 13 April, <a href="https://global.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202004/13/WS5e93cb0ea3105d50a3d15b45.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Yangtze Memory Technologies Co Ltd (YMTC)</a> officially introduced its long-awaited 128-layer flash memory 3D NAND chips. The company has been working to develop this product for several years and YMTC finally succeeded in introducing 128-layer flash memory 3D NAND chips. The company mentioned that its product has passed sample verification with multiple partners.At this point, it is possible that YMTC is NOT bluffing and that indeed it may be able to mass-produce 128-layer flash memory 3D NAND chips in 4Q 2020, which could put strong downward pressure on the NAND Flash prices.
