<ul><li>Global air freight rates were little changed overall last week according to the latest data from TAC Index, the leading price reporting agency for air freight markets.</li><li>The global Baltic Air Freight Index (BAI00) calculated by TAC edged slightly lower by -0.2% over the week to May 25, leaving it still well up some +29.6% from where it was 12 months earlier</li><li>With rates still at very elevated levels since the US/Israel conflict with Iran erupted in late February, though with some signs of pressures easing as jet fuel prices have now fallen about -15% versus the previous month according to Platts numbers (though still close +80% YoY). </li></ul>

<li>Following at least a short term fall in jet fuel prices, which finally fell back by about -10% in the first week or so of May (though still up about +80% YoY), the overall Baltic Air Freight Index (BAI00) was lower by -4.9% in the week to May 18, though leaving it still ahead by some +30.4% year-on-year. </li>
<li>BAI Spot rates edged lower during the week out of Hong Kong, India and Korea.</li>

<li>The global Baltic Air Freight Index (BAI00) calculated by TAC edged up another +0.4% in the week to May 11, leaving it ahead by some +35.8% from 12 months previously – with the market seemingly adjusting to a new operating environment since the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran at the end of February, but still well above the very highest points of recent peak seasons.</li>
<li>BAI Spot rates out of Hong Kong and India were both drifting a little lower over the week, though still rising on Transpacific lanes from South Korea to the US.</li>

<li>The overall Baltic Air Freight Index (BAI00) calculated by TAC dipped -1.2% in the week to May 4, leaving it still ahead by some +37.2% year-on-year - and still above the very highest levels reached in any of the last three peak seasons. </li>
<li>BAI Spot rates drifted a little lower out of Hong Kong last week and although overall rates from China were still rising both to the US and to Europe, the index of outbound routes from Hong Kong (BAI30) was lower by -4.0% WoW to leave it at +37.2% YoY, exactly in line with the global index.</li>

<li>The global Baltic Air Freight Index (BAI00) calculated by TAC gained a further +4.1% in the week to April 27, leaving it ahead by some +32.7% year-on-year – well above the highest levels reached in both the last two peak seasons, and with little sign of rates falling while jet fuel remains in short supply and at highly elevated prices.</li>
<li>BAI Spot rates out of Hong Kong continued to edge up slightly over the week, but were a little lower out of India and flat from South Korea – after big gains over the previous few weeks.</li>
