Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

<li>Tech moves to the top sector holding after capturing strong inflows, displacing Financials which saw heavy outflows and negative rotation.</li>
<li>TSMC, Samsung, Tencent and Alibaba are the consensus holding.  All 4 are owned by at least 70% of funds and form the backbone of most active GEM equity funds.</li>

<li>Using data from the close on 19 July, there could be 5 changes to the Yuanta/​P-Shares Taiwan Top 50 ETF and 2 deletions for the Yuanta/​P-Shares Taiwan Dividend Plus ETF.</li>
<li>Stocks that are expected to benefit from the AI revolution could gain ETF inclusion while shipping stocks are the ones expected to be deleted from the ETF.</li>
<li>There has been a huge increase in shorts on some of the potential inclusions and on most of the potential deletions. That will affect how stocks trade near term.</li>
</ul>


Using data from the close on 19 July, there could be 5 changes to the Yuanta/​P-Shares Taiwan Top 50 ETF and 2 deletions for the Yuanta/​P-Shares Taiwan Dividend Plus ETF.

The IDX should announce the changes to the IDX30, LQ45 and IDX80 indices early in the coming week.
There were inflows to Tracker Fund of Hong Kong Ltd (2800 HK) and Hang Seng H Share Index ETF (2828 HK) while Taiwan focused ETFs had outflows.
