Crypto - A Simple (Non-Fundamental) Investment Thesis

<li>After reviewing the crypto congressional hearing, I believe the risk of any imminent draconian US regulations against crypto is significantly reduced</li>
<li>It was clear from the hearing that <strong>crypto regulation is turning into a partisan issue divided down by party lines</strong>. Republicans were clearly more pro-crypto while Democrats were clearly not. </li>
<li>As with any partisan issue, the legislation progress is expected to be painfully slow, which will buy time for the continued adoption of crypto </li>

<li>BTC fell 20% over the weekend. As the trade is delta-neutral: long BTC spot and short BTC futures; directional market movements had no impact on the trade. </li>
<li>In fact, BTC crash led to immediate gains in the futures arb trade as futures prices fell and spread compressed versus spot</li>
<li>Using on-chain analysis enables the better timing of the trade by entering the trade when futures open interest is near the upper band of historical levels</li>
</ul>
