Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Hang Seng has announced the conclusions of the market consultation. Primary-listed foreign stocks will be eligible for inclusion in the HSI INDEX and HSTECH INDEX from the December rebalance.
The coming week has the rebalances for the NIFTY Index, Nifty Next 50 Index, Nifty Bank Index and SENSEX Index as a result of the HDFC Limited/ HDFC Bank merger.
There were inflows to Tracker Fund of Hong Kong Ltd (2800 HK) and outflows from Hang Seng H Share Index ETF (2828 HK) during the week.

<li>There is a big sector skew in the potential changes. We estimate a one-way turnover of 10.1% at the December rebalance resulting in a one-way trade of CNY 6.75bn.</li>
<li>The potential adds have outperformed the potential deletes and the CSI500 Index over the last six weeks. There could be more outperformance till nearer the end of the review period.</li>

<li>On Monday, the CSRC and the SFC agreed to further deepen mutual stock market access between the Mainland and Hong Kong and promote the development of both capital markets.</li>
<li>For Northbound Stock Connect, the eligible universe has been widely expanded to include constituents of the SSE A Share Index and the SZSE Composite Index.</li>
<li>There are 1,112 stocks that join the eligible universe, and 938 stocks currently meet the criteria for Northbound Stock Connect inclusion. There are implications for inclusion in global indices.</li>

<li>There's a large sector skew with Industrials, Information Technology and Materials stocks taking 17 more spots in the index, while Health Care and Financials lose 9 and 5 spots respectively.</li>
