Rakuten Bank (5838 JP) priced its IPO at JPY1,400 per share to raise gross proceeds of US$620 million. The shares will start trading on 21 April.

Peers have re-rated and our valuation analysis points to a fair value of around JPY1,900 per share, 36% above the IPO price. Therefore, the IPO price remains attractive.

<li>For companies with "low liquidity" the FFW will be multiplied by a fixed liquidity factor of 0.75 to derive the final FFW used for index calculation. </li>
<li>Every April, the application of this liquidity factor is reviewed by the TSE. In this insight, we take an early look at what could happen in April 2023.</li>
