Institutions were net buyers of Singapore stocks over the five trading sessions spanning Oct 4 to Oct 10, with S$211 million of net institutional inflow, adding to the preceding five sessions of S$50 million net inflow.Leading the net institutional inflow over the five sessions through to Oct 10 were DBS Group Holdings, Seatrium, Hongkong Land Holdings, Wilmar International, iFAST Corporation, Genting Singapore, SATS, Sembcorp Industries, Singapore Exchange and Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust.Its 1HFY24 (ended June 30) net profit of S$0.3 million compared to a net profit of S$0.4 million for 1HFY23.

<ul><li>With almost full certainty that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates this September (based on CME Fed Watch Tool showing a 100 per cent probability as of Jul 26, 2024), interest rates continue to remain in the spotlight for REITs.</li><li>The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced last week a proposal to simplify the leverage requirements for all Singapore REITs (S-REITs) – it proposes for a single aggregate leverage limit of 50 per cent and a minimum interest coverage ratio (ICR) of 5 times to be applied for all S-REITs.</li><li>Five S-REITs that maintain the lowest gearing ratios are Sasseur REIT (25.2 per cent), Paragon REIT (29.9 per cent), Far East Hospitality Trust (31.5 per cent), AIMS APAC REIT (32.6 per cent), and Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust (32.7 per cent).</li></ul>

<ul><li>Institutions were net buyers of Singapore stocks over the four trading sessions through to May 2, with S$12.9 million of net institutional inflow, as 17 primary-listed companies conducted buybacks with a total consideration of S$28.4 million.</li><li>Leading the net institutional inflow over the four sessions were DBS, UOB, Seatrium, City Developments, UOL Group, iFast Corporation, Singapore Tech Engineering, Singapore Exchange, Cortina Holdings, CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust and Hongkong Land Holdings.</li><li>For the month of April, Singapore stocks booked S$225 million of net institutional inflow, following S$1.15 billion of net institutional outflow in Q1.</li></ul>
