<p><strong>Executive Summary:</strong> A liquidity driven melt-up combined with month-end rebalancing to drive bank credit spread performance over the last week. Remove the month-end rebalancing and short duration positioning may remain the best strategy over the next few weeks, absent a material inflection point in the upcoming non-farm payroll numbers. </p><p>The short end of the rates market continued to push investors up the curve to generate returns. Awash with still rising liquidity, this melt-up was the key driver of credit spread outperformance.</p><p>Risk asset volatility and talking about, talking about, talking about tapering had little lasting impact on US interest rates over the last few weeks. In fact, rate curve flattening, and falling forward breakeven rates, suggest that the interest rate market may buy the Fed’s assessment of inflation as being transitory.</p><p>While the transitory mantra is believed, whispers of supply driven growth constraints are being mentioned. This would be interest rate and credit spread positive as it would extend the duration of the recovery and thereby delay late-stage economic cycle repositioning. Although not consensus, this thought is disconcerting, as it suggests the rising rates consensus is very wrong.</p><p>Therefore, the risk is clearly that the rates market is underpricing the potential for an extended period of higher than anticipated inflation. However, holding cash is expensive. Moving too early to position for higher or longer than anticipated inflation may be career ending. Extending duration to take advantage of declining rates is considered insane. Carry trades remain unloved. Ergo, the silent self-doubtful suffering of the rate and credit markets. Security selection based on fundamental analysis, in so much as one avoids unexpected spread widening, may be the differentiator for outsized total returns over the next few weeks.  </p><p>We elaborate on these themes within.</p><p><strong>Market Outlook:</strong> The question is whether the over-heating narrative will make a comeback and bring rate and tapering expectations closer. Its <em>BOSS Zhipin</em> mobile app connects job seekers and enterprise users as is positioned in the mid-to-high-end segment (white and gold-collar users) compared to local peers.</p><p>Kanzhun is backed by <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/tencent-holdings-ltd" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:26:1" rel="noopener">Tencent (700 HK)</a> (12.2% of outstanding shares), Banyan Partners (9.4%), Coatue Management (7.8%), <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/goldman-sachs-group-inc" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:785:1" rel="noopener">Goldman Sachs Group (GS US)</a> (7.3%), Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global. Kanzhun has filed for a Nasdaq IPO to raise proceeds of $800 million, according to press reports.  </p><p>Kanzhun is a play on the gradual shift of the China recruitment service market to online platforms. China’s online recruitment market size as measured by revenue is forecasted to increase from RMB55.1 billion in 2020 to RMB223.4 billion in 2025 (CAGR of 32.3%), according to CIC. The penetration rate of online recruitment to the total market is forecasted to increase from 32% in 2020 to 50% in 2025, according to CIC.</p><div class="content-highlight">
<p>Kanzhun is well-positioned to benefit from this sizeable market opportunity, in our view. At first sight, the strong growth in users and fast-paced revenue growth but ongoing losses suggests another “growth at all costs” strategy. In comparison, local listed peers such as <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/51-job-inc-adr" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:532:1" rel="noopener">51 Job Inc Adr (JOBS US)</a> and <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/wise-talent-information-tech" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:27177:1" rel="noopener">Wise Talent Information Tech (6100 HK)</a> are growing much slower but are profitable.</p>
<p>Encouragingly, Kanzhun's high revenue visibility and declining loss margin suggest that Kanzhun can eventually deliver high growth with profits. The upfront payment model of the online recruitment market means that like its peers, Kanzhun is cash generative. For investors willing to brave the current market selloff in high growth stocks, we think that the Kanzhun story warrants a closer look.  </p>

Before one thinks that it is a too-harsh of a policy, the rate of the increase of unlinked community cases in Singapore is high. This matters a lot because every Singapore residents need to check in every establishment using either an Identification card, Trace Together app, or token which has proved to be very effective as for months, most of the COVID-19 cases can be traced and therefore allows the government to take the necessary actions. </p>
