US equity markets saw a sharp risk-on move with the S&amp;P and Nasdaq closing 2.1% and 3% higher. All sectors were in the green led by IT which was up 3.5% followed by Consumer Discretionary and Energy, up over 2.3% each. US 10Y Treasury yields moved 2bp higher to 1.46%.  European markets were higher too with the DAX, CAC and FTSE up 2.8%, 1.9% and 1.5% respectively . Brazil’s Bovespa was up 0.7%. In the Middle East, UAE’s ADX was down 0.2% while Saudi TASI was up 0.8%. Asian markets have opened broadly higher – Shanghai, HSI and Nikkei were up 0.9%, 0.3% and 1.1% respectively while STI was down 0.3%. US IG CDS spreads tightened 2.5bp and HY CDS spreads tightened 12.9bp. EU Main CDS spreads were 3.5bp tighter and Crossover CDS spreads were 17.1bp tighter. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads tightened 2.9bp.

US equity markets recovered on Monday with the S&amp;P and Nasdaq closing 1.2% and 0.9% higher. All sectors were in the green led by Industrials, Consumer Staples, Energy and Utilities, up over 1.5% each. US 10Y Treasury yields moved 6bp higher to 1.44% as the risk-off move ebbed. European markets were higher too with the DAX, CAC and FTSE down 1.4%, 1.5% and 1.5% respectively . Brazil’s Bovespa was up 1.7%. In the Middle East, UAE’s ADX was up 2.6% while Saudi TASI was down 1.1%. Asian markets have opened higher – Shanghai, HSI, STI and Nikkei were up 0.1%, 1.5%, 0.3% and 1.9% respectively. US IG CDS spreads tightened 2.4bp and HY CDS spreads tightened 12.4bp. EU Main CDS spreads were 0.9bp tighter and Crossover CDS spreads were 3.9bp tighter. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads tightened 0.3bp.

US equity markets dropped on Friday with the S&amp;P and Nasdaq closing 0.8% and 1.9% lower respectively as Omicron jitters hit markets along with softer payrolls data. Most sectors were in the red led by Consumer Discretionary and IT, down over 1.7% each. US 10Y Treasury yields moved 4bp lower to 1.38% after falling over 10bp intra-day on Friday due to the risk-off sentiment and softer NFP data. European markets were lower too with the DAX, CAC and FTSE down 0.6%, 0.4% and 0.1% respectively . Brazil’s Bovespa was up 0.6%. In the Middle East, UAE’s ADX was closed while Saudi TASI was up 2.4% on Sunday. Asian markets have opened mixed – Shanghai and STI were up 0.4% and 0.8% while HSI and Nikkei were down 1.4% and 0.6% respectively. US IG CDS spreads widened 1.1bp and HY CDS spreads widened 7bp. EU Main CDS spreads were 0.6bp wider and Crossover CDS spreads were 2.4bp wider. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads tightened 1.3bp.

Barring Utilities which was 0.2% higher, all other sectors ended in the red led by Communication Services falling 2% . US 10Y Treasury yields moved 5bp lower to 1.43% as risk-off sentiment hit markets in the US session . European markets were also lower with the DAX, CAC and FTSE down 2.5%, 2.4% and 1.6% respectively . Brazil’s Bovespa ended 1.1% lower. In the Middle East, UAE’s ADX was closed while Saudi TASI was up 0.8%. Asian markets have opened mixed – Shanghai was flat, HSI was up 0.2% while STI and Nikkei were down 0.2% each. US IG CDS spreads widened 1bp and HY CDS spreads widened 5.6bp. EU Main CDS spreads were 1.6bp wider and Crossover CDS spreads were 9.1bp wider. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads widened 2bp.

US equity market optimism was only short-lived after Jerome Powell’s remarks on inflation and tapering led the S&amp;P and Nasdaq to close 1.9% and 1.6% lower respectively. All sectors ended in the red led by Communication Services and Utilities falling ~3%. US 10Y Treasury yields moved 2bp lower to 1.49% . European markets were also lower with the DAX, CAC and FTSE down 1.2%, 0.8% and 0.7% respectively . Brazil’s Bovespa ended 0.9% lower. In the Middle East, UAE’s ADX was up 0.8% and Saudi TASI was down 0.5%. Asian markets have opened broadly positive – Shanghai was flat while HSI, STI and Nikkei were up 1.5%, 1.2% and 0.8% respectively. US IG CDS spreads and HY CDS spreads widened 2.6bp each. EU Main CDS spreads were 1.9bp wider and Crossover CDS spreads were 8.7bp wider. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads widened 0.8bp.
