Custom Products was started 14 years ago at Lehman Brothers by current co-founder Patrick Hansen, CFA. After 3 years at Lehman, Patrick moved the team to Macquarie Securities where Simon Rigney (co-founder) joined. 3 years ago we took Custom Products independent. 

Our core strength can be summed up three words. 1- Customization - we have very little off the shelf products and most work is done on a one on one bespoke basis. 2- Speed - We pride ourselves in our ability to get requests back to the client very quickly. 3- Confidentiality - We do not redistribute. There is no grace period where we wait a week and then mass blast. Any request stops with that client.

Thematic (Sector/Industry)

With approx. 90% of names with mkt-cap above ¥50bn already announcing 1Q results, we looked back to see how companies did. If we look at the overall numbers, total Sales is up 7% YoY, OP is up 11% YoY and Net Income is up 26% YoY.At the sector level, Semiconductors &amp; Semiconductor Equipment sales is up 32% YoY and Material sector sales is up 12%. On the other side, only the Retail sector had sales fall YoY. 1Q Sales is down 2% in Retail. Sales for Health Care Equipment &amp; Services is only up 1%…

<li>Companies wouldn't accept shareholder proposals, interpreting that they need't disclose individual executive compensation if it's below certain amount and that they can continue holding policy-shares if the policy is defined.</li>
<li>Even if JSF claims to have enhanced corporate governance practices, it is reasonable  for shareholders to demand a review of its management strategy for a company with below average ROE.</li>
<li>The company, which doesn't require very large capital expenditures, plays a role in the infrastructure of the capital market, and has an oligopoly on the market, may be worth more.</li>
