Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

<li>The expectation is that there will be a lot of money that starts to track the index after the ETF listing. Looking at Japan, that is not a success story.</li>

<li>Top 10 companies in KOSPI that reduced their outstanding shares (from end of 2019 to 5 Sept 24) experienced average share price increase of 116% on average in this period.</li>

Corporate Value Up in Korea - Focus On Reducing Outstanding Shares and Comparison to M7

<li>We provide an updated NAV analysis of Samsung C&amp;T, discuss the reduced overhang post final Lee family inheritance tax payment, and also provide further details of its Corporate Value-Up announcement. </li>
<li>Given 2025 will be the last year of major inheritance tax payment for the Lee family, there is likely to be reduced overhang associated with inheritance tax issue next year.</li>
<li>Our NAV analysis of Samsung C&amp;T suggests NAV of 39.9 trillion won or NAV per share of 224,249 won which is 45% higher from current levels.</li>

<li>In general, the companies that have provided more detailed plans for their Corporate Value Up plans have done better recently. </li>
<li>However, now there are cases such as the three main POSCO Group companies whose share prices are rising just by announcing that they will provide Corporate Value Up plans later.</li>
</ul>


On 29 August, the three major POSCO Group companies including POSCO Holdings announced that they plan to provide detailed explanations of their Corporate Value Up plans in 4Q 2024.
