Our process begins by organizing the universe of actively traded stocks into discrete sectors, then into industry groups. We then apply our technical and quantitative tools to identify developing price trends. Once attractive trends are identified within a selected sector or group, we screen for individual stocks which we believe offer the best risk/reward profile. We provide a historical perspective that often reveals, through our long-term charts, how price patterns often repeat themselves over time.

<li>We are now getting those false breakdowns as major levels have been reclaimed; we view this as a net positive.</li>
<li>We continue to see select areas that are attractive (namely cyclical value and defensive Sectors) and we expect markets to remain mixed.</li>

False Breakdowns on Global MSCI Indexes as the US Dollar Weakens; Ideas Within Energy & Financials

<li>Commodities (ex. precious metals) and global yields are on the rise as the US dollar (DXY) deteriorates. Additionally, EM equities (EEM-US) display a bullish RS reversal relative to MSCI ACWI. </li>
<li>These are all important risk-on signals for global equities that continue to support our neutral yet constructive outlook. We expect more consolidation and mixed markets ahead.</li>
<li>Two Sectors that stand to benefit most from rising rates include Energy and Financials. We recommend adding exposure to these Sectors as we see a shift in favor of value.</li>

<li>Today the TSE announced its long-awaited segmentation of the 3,777 stocks listed on the five major venues, and where they will move on 4 April 2022. </li>
<li>TSE1 represented just under 98% of Japan's float market cap as of today's close. As some TSE1 members will move to TSE Standard, TSE Prime will represent 97+%. </li>
<li>There are tiny changes to TOPIX because of the moves - roughly 3bp of flow per quarter starting Oct 2022. The FFW Model Revision will be <em>far</em> more interesting.</li>

US equity markets mixed with the S&amp;P down 0.1% and the Nasdaq flat. Healthcare led the gainers, up 1% while Industrials led the losers, down 1.2%. US 10Y Treasury yields were down 1bp to 1.76%. European markets were lower with the DAX, CAC and FTSE down 1.1%, 1.4% and 0.5% respectively. Brazil’s Bovespa was down 0.8%. In the Middle East, UAE’s ADX was down 1% while Saudi TASI was up 0.9%. Asian markets have opened mixed – Shanghai and Nikkei were down 0.1% and 0.9% while HSI and STI were up 0.1% and 0.3%. US IG CDS spreads were 0.1bp tighter and HY CDS spreads widened 4.6bp. EU Main CDS spreads were 0.6bp wider and Crossover CDS spreads were 1.3bp wider. Asia ex-Japan CDS spreads widened 1.1bp.
