Periscope Analytics focuses on event-driven trades across Asia Pacific and provides comprehensive, timely and systematic coverage of index changes to major Asia Pacific indices in a structured manner.

The analysis includes forecasted inclusions and exclusions to all major Asian indices that have significant amount of tracking assets, including estimates of passive buy/sell flow on the stocks. The service also provides commentary and impact of market consultations, ground rule changes, and other events (IPOs, spin-offs, M&A) that could lead to index changes and passive flow.

Periscope Analytics works with multi-strategy hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, stat arb trading groups and long-only investors that invest and trade in the Asia Pacific region with the data being used to trade index rebalances, avoid pre-positioning and passive flow, and to time entry into and exit from stocks.

<li>With three quarters of the review period complete, there could be one change for the S&amp;P/ASX 50 Index and two changes for the <a href="https://www.smartkarma.com/entities/s-p-asx-200" target="_blank" data-smartkarma-citation="entities:22901:1" rel="noopener">S&amp;P/ASX 200 (AS51 INDEX)</a> in December. </li>
<li>There are two stocks that could be deleted from global indexes in November and that could keep those names under pressure for the next few weeks.</li>
<li>Passive trackers will need to buy between 4-5x ADV in the forecast adds and sell between 2-8x ADV in the forecast deletes. Shorts have been building up in some names.</li>

Charter Hall (CHC AU)'s stock price jumped following announcement of results and that was accompanied by big short covering. There should still be more positioning here. 

Nextdc Ltd (NXT AU)'s increase in cumulative excess volume came on a drop in the stock price. There could be some covering here as positioning builds up.
