<p>Palantir revealed its prospectus yesterday. An in-depth analysis of the company's financials raises a lot more questions about the company's prospects. The company was last valued at <a href="https://techcrunch.com/2020/07/02/sec-filing-indicates-big-data-provider-palantir-is-raising-961m-550m-of-it-already-secured/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$20 billion</a> about four years ago and the company's most recent private funding valuation levels have not been made public. Palantir remains one of the biggest private tech companies in the world. Since the company was co-founded by Peter Thiel and his Stanford Law School classmate Alexandar Karp, Palantir has raised nearly $2.75 billion in private capital.</p>
<p>Looking at the numbers closely, this direct public listing (DPL) has three major problems including lack of sales growth (especially from 2015 to 2019), lack of overall sales, and too high of operating losses as a percentage of sales. Despite these weaknesses, the U.S. stock market has been very receptive to many software/platform IPOs this year so the company has chosen an excellent time to complete its direct public listing which could be completed as soon as<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/palantir-said-to-ready-s1-filing-as-soon-as-monday-2020-8" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> 24 September. </a></p>
