Shares of Singapore Post recently climbed ~5% because e-commerce giant Alibaba got the green light to increase its stake in the postal company. Is the share price rally justified? <ul><li>Granted that e-commerce and logistics are hot sectors, there are signs of increasing competition and impending consolidation. At 22X forward PE, SingPost is not cheap by historical standards.</li><li>As SingPost is trying to digest acquisitions made over the last few years, last-mile delivery guys from Ninja Van to Deliveroo are moving aggressively and getting funded.</li><li>What is SingPost's edge? Until it decides, sticking around for dividends does not seem like a good plan.</li></ul>
