While recent economic data releases of China are not promising, there are some positive prospects of the economy. What's Driving Changes to Chinese Coal and Steel Prices?

Chinese trade data is out and it is very difficult to spin these numbers as anything less than very disappointing.  Arguably the best thing that can be said is that the rate of decline in trade value is slowing though there is no real evidence of a sustained reversal.If we look at the imports and exports in either USD or RMB terms, there is very little reason for encouragement.  On a year over year basis, USD imports and exports are down 10% and 2% respectively while in RMB imports were up…

Investors are more likely to pick up Chinese port operators with greater unrewarded risks than for the port companies overseas.In this update we highlight that there are little signs of green shoots for mainland Chinese operators with laggard throughput growth across the three economic regions: Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and Bohai Rim.
